Some Monday Morning Inspiration To Get You Going

Monday Inspiration

Oh, Monday, here we are again.

Maybe your weekend was packed with activities or maybe it was used for a Netflix-surfing-couch-time. Yet, here we are again, on a Monday with a full week ahead of us until the next well deserved weekend.

While channel flipping over the weekend, I caught a few minutes of the movie “Independence Day.” You know, the one with Will Smith and the aliens who decide to attack Earth on the 4th of July. This movie contains one of my most favorite movie moments of all time.

It’s the scene (**Spoiler Alert**) where Bill Pullman, the President, addresses members of the crowd near the airplanes before Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum take down an alien race with a computer virus circa ’96.

Call me a sucker for cheesy inspirational movie speeches (and sports montages), but I just can’t pass up a heartfelt speech. If you don’t share my same belief on inspirational moments, you surely haven’t heard the megaphone speech in a while: “We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day.”

From what I can conclude, a little bit of inspiration goes a long way. And while it’s not an emotionally charged speech delivered in front of people ready to march into battle, what I’ve rounded up is better.

Here are some Bible verses and quotes worthy of their own inspirational montage for your Monday morning to hopefully get you out of whatever slump you may find yourself in at the beginning of a new week!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

“There are no borders, no limits: He sends us to everyone. … Do not be afraid to go and to bring Christ into every area of life, to the fringes of society, even to those who seem farthest away, most indifferent.” – Pope Francis.

“In this world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.” – John 16:33

“Have you seen how that imposing building was constructed? One brick after another. Thousands. But, one by one. And bags and bags of cement, one by one. And stone upon stone, each of them insignificant compared with the massive whole. And beams of steel, and men working, hour after hour, day after day… Did you see how that imposing building was constructed? By dint of little things!” – Josemaría Escrivá, The Way, 823

“My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” -2 Corinthians 12:9

“We even rejoice of our affliction knowing that affliction produces endurance; endurance, proven character; and proven character, hope. And hope does not disappoint” – Romans 5:3-5

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:14-16

There is no shortage of verses and quotes that are truly inspiring. Which ones did I leave out? And if you still need a little bit of inspiration, enjoy 40 inspirational speeches in just two short minutes. Happy Monday!
