Christ Child Society hosts 4th Annual Evening For The Ladies

Published April 15, 2013 • Written by Martina Filed Under: World and News

pic 4Ladies, you don’t want to miss this event! Held each May to celebrate the gift of Mary and the Christ Child, the Christ Child Society of Texas Capital Area, Inc. is holding its 4th Annual Evening For The Ladies and the theme will be “Luau.”

What is the Christ Child Society? They are a group that focuses on helping the poor and underprivileged by providing a multitude of things for the poor, from infant layettes for women who have nothing to bring their newborns home in from the hospital, to helping homeless children and teens with hygienic needs. This is a wonderful apostolate that you will be thrilled to be helping out.

The evening will include dinner, wine and entertainment, featuring Omaha humorist Mary Maxwell who will share her observations of women, children, and aging. I had the pleasure of attending the very first Christ Child Society ladies evening {and the subsequent annual events!} and saw Mary Maxwell speak then. Humorous is an understatement. The woman had us all howling! There will also be a raffle, a silent auction and, of course, social time! So, grab a friend, or two or five, and dress up in your best “luau” getup. Then head over to St. William in Round Rock to join the party.
