What a strange podcast. I agree that some of Yahoo’s top news stories seemed odd and that the Newtown shooting should be higher. On gas prices – it is true that prices were high in the summer of 2008, but they fell to very low levels at the end of 2008. McCain did not suspend his campaign because of gas prices, but because of the financial industry’s problems. http://zfacts.com/gas-price-history-graph
Also, you all are overstating the importance of the election. 2012 was about the most boring, unimportant election ever. The majority parties in the House and Senate stayed the same and incumbent president was re-elected. It was a yawner all around. Surprised you seem to think this was some defining moment in our history.
Jenni,
Thanks for listening. If you find our show strange and out of the ordinary to traditional Catholic media then we’re doing our job. 🙂
I know for myself it wasn’t so much the election itself but what the results and exit polling say about us as a nation. Especially in light of how the current administration has taken aim at the Church and those trying to live out their faith in the public square.
Hope you continue listening. We’ll be back with a new show next week.
