We got news of a really cool event that is coming up as part of “Celebrating Catholic Schools Week”. If you are a fan of Catholic schools, the Food Network, The Catholic Channel then this is for you. If you’re not a fan of any of those then I’m sure this event might just make you a fan.

As a kickoff to Catholic Schools Week, Celebrating Catholic Schools Weekend activities include a Cooking Demonstration with Fr. Leo Patalinghug on Friday, January 25, 2013 and 2013 Celebrating Catholic Schools Dinner and Awards Presentation on Saturday, January 26, 2013.  Last year, each of Catholic school in the Diocese of Austin received $3,000 from the event to benefit their tuition assistance fund.  The goal this year is $5,000 per school.

New this year is a Friday Night Cooking Demonstration featuring Fr. Leo Patalinghug.  Fr. Leo believes that the key to a healthy family are healthy meals eaten together, and he’s sending that message out through his web show, “Grace Before Meals.”

Fr. Leo will share his cooking secrets for the Fusion Steak Fajitas he made in a competition which he won with Food Network Star Bobby Flay on “Throwdown with Bobby Flay” on Friday, January 25, 2013.  In addition to the Cooking Demonstration / Dinner on Friday night, Fr. Leo will be the keynote speaker at 2013 Celebrating Catholic Schools on Saturday night, January 26, 2013.

In addition to the press release for this event our friend Pat Ryan from Relevant Radio 970am conducted an interview with Father Leo to help promote the event.
