I have to say, when I first heard Ralph Martin* was coming to our parish, my first thought was I HAVE to meet this man and thank him profusely for his role in reenergizing our pastor, Father Dean Wilhelm. You see, Ralph Martin and Father Dean go back a “few” years and as it turned out, Mr. Martin happened to be giving a retreat in Europe where Father Dean was on sabbatical earlier this year. While I had no idea who Ralph Martin was, I knew he must be very special because Father Dean came back a new man, a new priest, and a vibrant leadership emerged upon his return. At our recent ministry gathering, where all the ministry heads meet to connect with each other, the office staff, and our priests, it was apparent that more than five months later Father Dean was still profoundly affected by this retreat. As a result, Father Dean shared his vision of moving from “maintenance,” or “tending the store” to “mission” and give St. William an even greater reach into the local community in terms of evangelizing and sharing the Good News. How exciting!
Ralph Martin is not just “some event” going on at St. William in Round Rock. No, his presentations will move you into a new realm of evangelizing as the laity. You will not want to miss an opportunity to hear Mr. Martin’s presentations. Make your way up the interstate to join us at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock for this wonderful talk. Heck, just make an evening of it by coming this way early, grab some dinner with some friends or your spouse…whatever you have to do…come early, be loud, stay late. Oh wait…that’s something else. Either way, be there!
