Rosary Rally

  • On Saturday October 15th, Austin will celebrate the 94th Anniversary of Fatima during the 5th Annual Public Square Rosary. This peaceful rally that will unite over 100,000 American Catholics in 7000 locations nationwide pray the Rosary for our Nation. In 1917, Our Lady of Fatima appeared in Portugal, said “My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.” The Mother of God asked us to pray the Rosary, do penance, amend our lives for the conversion of sinners and for world peace. The morning will begin with Mass at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Cathedral. After Mass, a procession will lead to the Capitol. The Rosary Rally will be begin at 11:30 A.M. on the sidewalk and grass area on Congress Avenue. Bring a Rosary and blanket to sit on. Restore, Renew & Reclaim: Understanding the Church’s Stance on Contraception

  • Questioning the Church’s stance on contraception? Curious as to what the Church’s stance even is? The St. John Neumann parish Culture of Life Committee is sponsoring a series on the Church’s stance on contraception. This exciting and relevant topic promises to be interesting for all.
    The discussions will take place over a series of three evenings highlighting of Church teachings, held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12, 19 and 26 in the St. Timothy Room.
    Part 1 explores the history of the Church’s teachings — “Restoring” the communion of Faith and Reason.
    Part 2 reveals the beauty of Catholic sexual theology — “Renewing” the dignity of Human Sexuality.
    Part 3 defends the Church’s position — “Reclaiming” the Church’s moral authority.

 

  • A follow-up session will be held Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. to learn about the three methods of Natural Family Planning!
    Cari Worley Henry, MD, has been an SJN parishioner for 26 years. She is a Family Physician and serves as the secretary for the Catholic Physicians Guild of Central Texas. Her interests lie in combining medicine and theology and is currently working toward her Theology of the Body certification from the Institute in Pennsylvania.
