The annual Austin Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference (DCYC) was last weekend, January 17-19, 2014 in Waco, Texas. Nearly 2400 teens from around the Diocese participated in DCYC, making it the largest DCYC ever.
This year’s theme, Ablaze, was a fitting conclusion to the Year of Faith which ended this past November, reminding teens that, “If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze!” (St. Catherine of Siena)
Instead of sharing the conference with y’all just in words though, I thought I’d share it in pictures. These photos were taken by DCYC Committee Members Jacci and David DiCarlo, who have photographed numerous parish and Diocesan events and do wonderful portrait and wedding photography. Visit their website at Sunday’s Child Snap Shots.
Of course, pictures can’t completely do justice to the wonderful weekend that was DCYC 56: Ablaze, as they can never really capture what happens in the heart. But it can provide you with a snapshot of what happens every year at DCYC. For more information, tweets, photos and more visit the:
