One of my favorites subjects is the relationship of art and the faith. I’m absolutely convinced that the Church is in need of improving the quantity and quality of art it produces, and film is one of the areas where we are lacking the most. There is a new film about our Blessed Mother Mary, titled Mary of Nazareth, recently released in select theaters, and it’s received many words of praise and endorsements from many great people.
We are very excited that we will have several screenings of the new Mary of Nazareth here in Austin October 5th – October 6th.
“Get to know Jesus through the eyes of his mother in an epic film, Mary of Nazareth. This new release vividly captures the essence of Mary’s profound faith and trust in God, and the deep love she and Jesus shared for one another. This movie underscores her mystery, her role in redemption, her tremendous suffering during Christ’s passion, and her serene joy at his Resurrection.
Marian expert, Fr. Donald Calloway, said: “’Mary of Nazareth’ offers the best presentation of Our Lady I have ever seen. It is an absolute theological and Mariological masterpiece! It will make you want to love her more than ever. Without a doubt, this is the most stunning portrayal of the Virgin Mary on film!”
This film is only being shown Saturday Oct. 5 – Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Marchesa (Mar-KESS-uh) Theatre. The last limited engagement film brought to Austin, Restless Heart, sold out. Don’t miss your opportunity to see Mary of Nazareth. To view a trailer, see showing times, and purchase tickets, go towww.RestlessHeartAustin.com”
