In a world that has grown increasingly connected, we continue to create an increasingly isolating world. Our technological advancements have not solved our problems, and the world is still in a great need for a savior.
Austin CNM is more than just a collection of blogs and other content. We began as a unorganized group of Catholics looking for community. We were hungry to know that the other people we had seen online were real people that were walking this journey like us. Once we finally went beyond friendships that were only behind digital avatars, we were able to connect as people. A few weeks ago we had our meetup for the second quarter, and I always leave our gatherings feeling inspired by how the Spirit moves when we gather in His name.
Catholics are notoriously slow at picking up new things, but there are many voices that are not friendly toward the Church in the digital continent. Our organization came about to bring a voice from the people of the Church in Central Texas to the digital continent. We continuously pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit because it is impossible to serve the Lord without His help and providence.
We thank God for the many blessings He has generously given to us with since we were founded in late 2010. We first thought that we were just going to be a support and networking group for those that create Catholic media, but we were inspired to form a group that would create, network, educate, promote, and serve the local church.
As an incorporated non-profit organization, we also required a board of directors. I would like to thank Jason Elizondo for the great leadership he has provided for our organization as President over the past 2 years. As announced on the 2 Guys a Girl and a Catholic Podcast, Jason has officially stepped down as president as of June 30, 2013. On July 1st, I have taken his position as the president and Rita Suva has filled of Executive Director. I ask for your prayers for the leadership and all of the contributors of Austin CNM. We have exciting things planned, and we are confident that the Lord will provide all that we need as we continue to listen for His direction.
Join us also in prayer for the amazing country we live in and the great State of Texas. We are grateful for our freedom and pray that future generations may also enjoy the freedoms we have today.
