• Pope Benedict XVI called religious liberty the “most cherished of American freedoms.”  Is our most cherished freedom truly under threat?  Consider this: Catholic foster care and adoption services.  Boston, San Francisco, the District of Columbia, and the State of Illinois have driven local Catholic Charities out of the business of providing adoption or foster care services—by revoking their licenses, by ending their government contracts, or both—because those Charities refused to place children with same-sex couples or unmarried opposite-sex couples who cohabit.

• All are invited to the final presentation of the Year of Faith Catholic Speaker Series, featuring a presentation by Fr. Dean Wilhelm, Pastor at St. Williams entitled “Lumen Gentium:  The Church/who is saved?” on June 23.  All talks from the Year of Faith Series are held on Sunday evenings, 7—8:30 p.m. in the Church.  The talk lasts about 45 minutes, with a question and answer and discussion to follow.
