Through the heavy traffic and nightmare parking situation in the midst of South by Southwest, our first event of this kind was a great success. We would like to say thank you to everyone that attended or supported us in some way.
I was pleasantly surprised to see such a great turnout at this first event because we were unsure how many people would be willing to give up a weekday afternoon and brave downtown Austin during the busiest time of the year. We look forward to possibly expanding in years to come, and looking for more opportunities to bring community together.
The other great benefit of events like this is the opportunity for building and developing community. For many of us, it was the first time we met in person, and it is always a blessing to connect face to face. Our work in the online world holds no weight if it never expands into our “real” lives.
