Last Friday Cristobal talked about ACNM’s continued growth and expansion. Today I’m thrilled to announce the next phase in our mission. Last year during SXSW we held an expanded Q1 meetup to coincide with the Interactive Festival. This year we are taking it to the next level.
Pope Benedict XVI calls the world of social media a Digital Continent, with natives, immigrants, and even missionaries. “He encourages Catholics, especially our priests, to approach this culture of 140 characters and virtual friendships as a great opportunity for Evangelization. If you would like to learn more about how to approach this culture of 140 characters then Austin Catholic New Media invites you to a FREE 1/2 day SXSW Interactive style workshop.
The day will be filled with talks and panels on how to be a missionary to the Digital Continent. The event will be held in the Bishop’s Hall at St. Mary’s Cathedral on March the 12th from 1-6pm. Speakers will include Father Chris Decker and Father Ryan Humphries of the Catholic Underground, as well as your favorite Austin Catholic New Media Contributors.
Join us as we continue Blessed Pope John Paul II call for a new Evangelization. We also ask that you help us to spread the word about this event by sharing this post with your parish priest and communications director or adult faith ministry lead. If you have any questions you can send them to feedback@austincnm.com
