Women of the Well

Published September 21, 2012 • Written by Sarah Rose Filed Under: Blog

We’ve all heard the term “Faith in Action”. Even this past Sunday, we heard “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?”. What does it mean to live out our faith?

At Catholic Charities of Central Texas, we are all about putting our faith into action by serving our brothers and sisters in need. And we know that each and every individual has a beautiful and unique way of living out their faith.

With our quarterly Women of the Well event, we invite women of all ages across the diocese to come together and be inspired and encouraged in their faith journeys by hearing local female speakers talk about how they live out their faith in their family life, career and/or community service.

Wednesday, September 26th at 8:30am at the Diocese of Austin Pastoral Center, we are blessed to be joined by Amber Fogarty for Catholic Charities’ first Women of the Well event. Amber Fogarty is a Partner and Chief Marketing Officer for SOS Leadership Institute, an organization committed to developing leaders that make a difference. She is also an Adjunct Faculty Member for the School of Management and Business at St. Edward’s University.

Prior to joining SOS Leadership, Amber spent eleven years as a marketing communications professional for both the nonprofit community and for-profit organizations. She currently serves as a Board Member for Mobile Loaves and Fishes, as well as a volunteer and event co-chair for the Outreach and Education Work Group for the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO), which coordinates Austin’s Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

Amber received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and her MBA with a specialization in Marketing from St. Edward’s University. She was honored with a Presidential Award from SEU for leadership, service, and academic excellence. She also earned a Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.

We hope you’ll join us and/or help us spread the word about this new event! If you have any questions or suggestions for future speakers, please don’t hesitate to contact me at sarah-rose@ccctx.org or 512-651-6105.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
