Church News:

  • The Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Austin (CSDA), are offering scholarship sweepstakes for students for the first time. Students can now enter to win a $1,000 scholarship for Catholic School tuition from Parker School Uniforms.  Visit www.csdascholarship.com, to enter the contest, until June 15th. For more information, visit www.csdatx.org or “Like” on Facebook. By sharing their post on facebook about the contest, you will increase your chances to win.
  • The Awaken Your Spirit retreat on June 23-24 at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center is taking registrations. Fr. James Misko of Belton, Fr. Steve Sauser from St. Elizabeth’s in Pflugerville, and Fr. Jon Kim of St. Mary’s in Austin will be speaking throughout the retreat. The cost is $75. Email Lynda Villasana at secretary@legionofmaryaustin.org or call 512-269-0023 for more information.
  • The Texas Alliance for Life Walk for Life 2012 is on Saturday, June 2. This is the pro-life walk-a-thon to raise funds to build a Culture of Life in Texas. You can walk two miles on your own or join other walkers at any of the four sites in Georgetown, Cedar Park, North Austin, or South Austin.  To register as a walker or sponser, go to texasallianceforlife.com/ the website will allow you to set up your very own Walk for Life page. There you can create personal messages, add photos or videos, and post to Facebook and Twitter. This year’s incentive prizes will include a special T-shirt for $250 in pledges, free membership in the Leadership Circle for $5,000 in pledges, and free tickets the annual Benefit Dinner on Wednesday, October 17, for pledge total in between. Have fun while helping us raise funds to build a Culture of Life in Texas.   • ACNM Q2 Meet-up
    • Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 7:00pm until 9:30pm
    • St. William’s Parish Hall Section 2
      • Join us for our second quarter meet up as we gather to network and share. The main presentation and discussion will center around Pope Benedict XVI’s call for America to lead the New Evangelization. Open to all interested in the New Media and the New Evangelization.
