This past weekend I was fortunate enough to travel to Houston for Catholicon with a group of ACNMers. The weekend was filled with opportunities to deepen our understanding of Catholic media and our place within it with workshops and breakout sessions. As well as opportunities to deepen our spiritual lives with Mass and prayer throughout the day. While these were all wonderful and fruitful things both mentally and spiritually. The part that really sticks out for me are the real-life connections that were made.
I rode down to Houston and back with my friends from ACNM and to have that time to simply be with each other was outstanding. Then to make real face to face connections not only with people I have “known” for some time but with brand new people was also a special blessing. I guess making these kind of connections holds a special place in my heart because it’s one of the goals of ACNM, to build personal not just virtual connections with those around us. It also lets us know that we aren’t alone in our efforts in the New Evangelization, we can draw off each other to build up the Kingdom of God.
With that in mind I’m excited to announce that the ACNM Q3 Meet-up is scheduled for September 27th 2011 at 7:00pm – 9:00pm and will be held at:
St. Albert the Great Catholic Church
The meet-up will serve as a brain dump from Catholicon along with a series of mini-workshops of our own. So save the date and be watching for more details to come.
