Celebrating One Year Online and a Giveaway to Boot

Published January 13, 2012 • Written by Jason Elizondo Filed Under: Blog

It’s amazing how time flies.  One year ago we launched the Austin Catholic New Media website with the simple goal to connect Catholics in the Diocese of Austin interested in promoting the New Evangelization using new media. We quickly learned that the Lord had slightly bigger plans for us.

Over the past year we have gathered a wonderful collection of bloggers who daily share their love for the Lord and Holy Mother Church in English and Spanish.  We’ve launched an award winning podcast in “Two Guys, a Girl and a Catholic Podcast“. As well as having recently launched our “Sunday Says” podcast that allows our contributors to share their reflections on the weekly Sunday readings.

We’ve fostered a wonderful relationship with Relevant Radio 970AM in Austin that allows us to stream all of their local content.  This partnership provides the means for people to listen to content they might have missed if they weren’t near their radios at the time of airing.  Along with the local programming we’ve also been able to broadcast the daily readings and homilies by local priest heard daily from the Pastoral Center of the Diocese.

Last but not least we have formed an amazing network of syndicated blogs and podcast from around the Diocese. From the stay-at-home mom to the seminarian to the pilgrims at World Youth Day. These syndicated sites show the reach and depth of those involved in the New Evangelization here in the Diocese of Austin.

Giveaway

The Lord has allowed us to do much this past  year and everyone who reads, contributes and prays for us has been a part of that.  For that we wanted to say “thank you” to all of our readers with a special giveaway. Matthew Kelly will be speaking at St. Williams in Round Rock, TX on Sunday January 29th and we want to give one lucky reader two tickets. In order to enter just leave a message in our combox telling us what you’ve enjoyed over the past year from ACNM and what you look forward to seeing in the future.

Thank you again for all your support and prayers.
