“Each of them is Jesus in disguise”
Mother Teresa’s explanation of her ministry serving the poorest of the poor in Calcutta, India is nothing short than extraordinary. Her life’s work saw humankind, no matter how poor and destitute, for who they really are – blessed children of God.
Brandon Heath, a Christian artist known for his singles “Give Me Your Eyes”, “The Light in Me” and “I’m Not Who I Was”, has used Mother Teresa’s words in his newest song “Jesus In Disguise.”

There is a rhyme and reason to the people we meet, the conversations that we have. You can never be fully sure of the impact of a simple smile, prayer, conversation or display of faith can have on our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We have to remember that anyone we meet, come across or speak with can be, to borrow Mother Teresa’s words, Jesus in disguise.
We’re at a time where hate and judgement seem to be flung around news, social media, comment boxes and in public discourse all too easily. We have an election season that is heating up, stress because of unemployment and worries about how our government will respect our religious beliefs.
But we have an opportunity to be different, to decide to treat other with respect and love. For at the end of the day, we are all children of God.

Brandon Heath actually made a video on his account, and as far as the video describes—Teresa was not his inspiration.
Ms. Teresa also wrongly uses this passage, as those who are truly “Jesus in disguise” are Christians. We see this from the judgment of the sheep and goats, are all who profess Christ.
Granted all humans are in the image of God—but we are to take care of the brethren first, they will know us by our love for one another. We help others next…

You have to be kidding me…
Ms. Teresa uses this passage wrongly? We are all children of God! Jesus loves and cares for all. When Jesus Christ taught us that wherever you do for the least of these, you do for me…he was not saying that you only care for Christians first? Christ taught us to help and care for the poor, no matter what religion they profess. How do you think people knew Christians were different from all the other people of they’re time in the early church? Because they served the poor, tended to the needy, and saw Jesus Christ in all things; and all people. The most abominable thing you said in your statement was that we take care of the brethren first and then others next…what kind of theology is that? Not Christian in any denomination I know of! So your saying fellow Christians will know us by our fruits? What? They are already Christians…we’re not trying to convert people who already profess Christ! Christ was talking about the heathen who know no God. That is what the true Christian practices. You sir, sound like you are more involved with a fraternal organization. That is all.
