ACNM, The CNMC, and You!

Published August 24, 2012 • Written by Jason Elizondo Filed Under: Blog

Next week Dallas-Ft. Worth will be host to the Catholic New Media Conference hosted by SQPN.  If you have any interest in Catholic new media and the new evangelization you should make plans to try and attend at least one day of this three day conference.  The CNMC will focus on how individuals, parishes and organizations can use all forms of new media to advance the mission of the Church and the new evangelization.  This conference will bring together the leaders in the areas of social media, mobile apps, film & video, podcasting and blogging.  But more then that this conference will be a great opportunity to make real life connections with all of your virtual “friends”.

Last year I had the pleasure of attending a similar conference in Houston and I know this will be an event not to be missed.  Just as important as the official tracks that will be taking place are the “hallway conversations”. These are the moments where you’ll be able to sit down with people that you might have only tweeted with or shared a Facebook updates with. To have the opportunity to make a real connection with a person is not only invaluable to our shared mission, but also makes those relationships that much stronger.

So if you are in the Central Texas area and are interested in attending the CNMC with folks from Austin Catholic New Media here is your chance. We have set-up a Facebook event for ACNM goes to CNMC. There you can connect with those of us who are going, if you’d be interested in carpooling and/or room sharing.  If you are not going to be able to attend SQPN has setup a Virtual Ticket that will allow you to access to all the great content at half the price of the conference.

With less then a week to go I know everyone here can’t wait and we hope to see you there.
