\u00a0All night … I looked\u00a0<\/a><\/em>\u00a0for the one my soul loves;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I looked for him but did not find him.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I will go through the streets of the city,\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I will search for him my soul loves.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city.<\/em><\/p>\n

I asked them,\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/a>“<\/em>Have you seen my love?” \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The angels pitied me.<\/p>\n

They said to me,<\/p>\n

“Search among the lilies…<\/p>\n

He is not here!<\/p>\n

He lies not in darkness<\/p>\n

Nor in the folds of the cloth.”<\/p>\n

But I could not breathe, so sick was I with love,<\/p>\n

So I asked the gardener,<\/p>\n

“Where have you taken him? Tell me!”<\/p>\n

“Woman,” he asked,” why do you weep,<\/p>\n

Your beloved is yours and you are his.<\/em><\/p>\n

He feeds his flock among lilies.<\/em><\/p>\n

…Miriam… Mary!”<\/em><\/p>\n

“Rabonni!”<\/em><\/p>\n

I rose, a rose unfolding, lilies opened at my feet<\/p>\n

My love was so complete, my love was so complete<\/p>\n

Grave flowers sprang up living, blossoming at our feet<\/p>\n

Our love was so complete, our love was so complete.<\/p>\n

In that love,\u00a0I found him, I held him, and I would not let him go.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Oh! Come to me, Miriam!…but cling not<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t grieve for the world past and gone..receive my Heart<\/p>\n

Receive the Lily!”<\/p>\n

Oh woman who brings the great tiding to Zion<\/em><\/p>\n

Get thee to the high mountain…<\/em><\/p>\n

Lift up your voice with strength<\/em><\/p>\n

Be not afraid, say unto the cities of Judah,<\/em><\/p>\n

“Behold your God! \u00a0Behold your God! Behold your God!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

That Miriam found among the lilies.<\/p>\n
