The ground, the grass, your car door handle; every little crevice is covered with condensation. The water has descended upon everything, and covers everything. What a beautiful prayer to include that in the Liturgy: “Lord cover everything so that You might truly be present in every part of this bread and wine to make it your very Flesh and Blood.”

Continuing from that vein of thought, what an incredible prayer in it of itself. The Lord has given us so many gifts. Most recently in my own life, I have appreciated the gift of being the son of Omar and Amy (apparently I’m their spitting image (“Are you Omar and Amy’s Son?” will be on my tombstone)), without whom I would not know Jesus, and the oldest brother to four younger siblings who have blessed my life day in and day out. I was raised in a parish where I knew that I was loved and cherished. More recently I am going to the school that I have always wanted to my entire life and am attending the church (St. Mary’s Catholic Center in the house) that has always been another home. I have had three wonderful friends who have been family and sisters to me in my time here. I have made friends among a community of young people each trying to know the God that created them.

Blessings and stuff.

Reflecting on these gifts, it is a deep desire of my heart for the Lord to bless these gifts infinitely. “Lord descend upon all of the beautiful gifts that you have given me like the dew fall that Your Spirit might cover them and give them grace. Let them be a part of Your Body and Blood so that You will Love them like Your own Flesh.” God’s goodness and mercy will follow you all of your life like the dew fall.
