Reading 1<\/b>
\n<\/b>Proverbs 8:22-31<\/b><\/a><\/h4>\n

This week we celebrate the the Mystery of the Holy Trinity, and this first reading is a unique perspective from a personified wisdom. The book of proverbs is part of a greater collection of the wisdom of the Jewish people. This reading almost seems out of place when you see it as Wisdom that is present when God created the world out of nothing. In this we see that God worked as a team in order to create. This lays the foundation for the idea that God is not isolated, but rather a family within Himself as 3 persons in 1 being.<\/span><\/p>\n

    This week\u2019s second reading from St Paul\u2019s letter to the Romans is about our justification by faith in God. He has a startling assertion that our suffering and affliction are actually good for us to develop our strengths and hope. We have hope because our struggles are not defeat. They are proof that we are in a battle against the enemy and progressing. They are scars from the world that wants to hold us back. We have hope that the Holy Spirit has been given to us in order to endure all of these challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n<\/b>      John 16:12-15<\/b><\/a><\/h4>\n

      This week\u2019s Gospel from St John is short and to the points. In their fear, the Apostles are not sure what will happen in the future, but Jesus promises them that they will never be alone. The Father and the Son will send forth the Advocate, the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen them on their mission. Now that we are 2 weeks after the Ascension, it may seem darker without Him present in the world like He was at the Resurrection, but He is still present to us, most especially in the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n
