The writer is promoting a continued adherence to the traditions of their faith when so many are losing them among the changing cultures and pagan traditions that surround them.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Responsorial Psalm<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/90:12\"><b>Psalm 90:12-13, 14-15, 16-17<\/b><\/a><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (14) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill us with your love, O Lord, and we will sing for joy!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Reading 2<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/hebrews\/4:12\"><b>Hebrews 4:12-13<\/b><\/a><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week\u2019s second reading from the letter to the Hebrews, we hear a very short reading that praises Sacred Scripture. As familiar or boring as the readings in the Holy Mass may seem, there is a living power in the Word that comes from God. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second theme in this tiny reading is focused on God\u2019s omniscient power that extends beyond our understanding. Money is often seen as a form of earthly success, but Jesus uses some bold words to reveal how much of an obstacle it is for us to be closer to God. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jesus even takes it to a deeper level to reveal that it is impossible for any human to be able to get to heaven on their own power. It is only possible by the generosity and grace of the Father, because nothing is impossible for the Lord. <\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Gospel Meditation from Bishop V\u00e1squez<\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflection question<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biblical wisdom is to recognize God as the true source and fulfillment of all. Things are temporary and fleeting. Have we allowed God\u2019s word to penetrate us? Do we really rely upon God entirely or do we trust in our own means? God asks us to rely on him completely.
