spirituality and relationship with the Holy Eucharist that needs to be respected and appreciated. Pre 1stCommunion children live in a spirituality of anticipation, an abstaining from this experience. Those in nursing homes or home bound live now in a type of monasticism or hermitage. They receive Holy Communion from time to time, but they are no longer bound to participate in Sunday Mass. They are in a time of Sacramental fasting.
In all of this there is a need to respect Spiritual Communion, to be in Communion by not receiving Holy Communion. To respect the integrity of the gift by not giving or receiving Holy Communion in a way that does not respect the sacredness of those situations where one cannot receive Holy Communion.
