Introducing ATX Catholic

New Logo

We are pleased to announce that we are changing our name from Austin Catholic New Media to ATX Catholic.

Over the past several years, our group has undergone changes from its beginning as a social group of Catholic techies. While we still strive to unite the Catholic content creators of the diocese, creating content as an organization has become the largest part of what we do. With that in mind, simplifying the name makes it easier to reference and share on the digital continent.

ATX is a common acronym of Austin, Texas that is a large part of the local identity, and it makes it instantly recognizable by those throughout the state and even around the country as part of the Austin culture.

The Diocese of Austin expands far beyond the Austin metro area including areas in the Bryan-College Station area and Waco. We understand that could appear to exclude them, but Austin has always been in our name because we belong to the Diocese of Austin. The ATX is the head of the Church in Central Texas, and our focus will remain on the perspective of the local Church throughout the entire diocese.

We also now put our Catholicism in the forefront of our identity and leave out the explanation of the media. Many in the younger generations don’t understand the term new media because it’s the only media they know now.

Logo Refresh

Along with the name change, our logo underwent a subtle refresh to make it easier to read in smaller sizes. The same elements were maintained from the original and were only slightly adjusted.

Austin CNM to ATX Catholic

Thank you all for the support and encouragement. May God bless and keep you.
