Hi Everyone, so it’s been awhile. We’ve been having some late nights and somewhat early mornings so it’s been hard to get online. World Youth Day officially began Tuesday evening with mass celebrated by Archbishop Antonio Rouco Varela of Madrid. Since then, things have been a whirlwind of excitement. We’ve received catechesis from a couple of bishops from other areas, scene different exhibits from several museums, and have enjoyed other cultural programming as well. Tomorrow I plan to post even more pictures than tonight, as well as collect more comments and messages. Saturday we head to mass with the other Americans and stake out our spot at the vigil site. Sunday we wake up early to walk the 10k to the mass site where we’ll in section D5, which happens to be right in the middle. After we get back and clean up, we have dinner with Bishop Vasquez as we bring our trip to a close. I’ll try to post more pictures that night. In the mean time visit the Picasa album here: https://picasaweb.google.com/103777728917566675236/WYD?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCO3k5I7F1YSclwE&feat=directlink
I hope everything is well in the Diocese of Austin. You are in our prayers as we hope we’re in yours. Peace.
